The
small hilltop village of Benitachell...
...also
known as Benitatxell is located between
Moraira, Teulada & Javea on the CV-740. This quiet traditional
village has a variety of shops, restaurants and bars to
enjoy. There are bus routes to Javea & Teulada and the
Alicante to Valencia coach also stops in the village. There
is a small weekly street market in the village held on a
Wednesday morning in front of the Ayuntamiento (Town Hall)
and Correos (Post Office).
For
the golf enthusiasts, Javea Golf club is located on the
outskirts of the village and Club de Ifach near Moraira
and the Marriott La Sella Golf Resort & Spa near Jesus
Pobre are both within a 15-20 minute drive. If you enjoy
lawn bowls then Benitachell Bowls Club is located behind
the village and Javea Bowls Club is within a 5 minute drive.
The
Cumbre del Sol development set high on
the coastal hills above the village is nestled between a
nature reserve and the sea with it’s own beach at
Playa del Moraig. The combination of hills, cliffs and Mediterranean
views offer stunning scenery to a variety of villas and
low rise pueblo style apartments built amongst the hills
and along the cliff tops. The area is ideally located to
access the nearby resorts of Javea & Moraira with their
sandy beaches and amenities, both within a 15 minute drive.
Cumbre
del Sol has two commercial centres offering a variety
of amenities. The North Entrance ‘Centro de Comercial’
includes the well stocked and reasonably priced Elvi Supermarket,
Deutch Bank, El Mirrador Café and next door is the
La Cumbre Restaurant & Bar with a large pool for all
to use and stunning views over Cumbre del Sol and the sea.
There is also a pharmacy and doctor surgery a little further
down the hill. The South Entrance 'Commercial Centro Llirios'
is home to a variety of amenties including a Chinese Restaurant,
Spanish Cafe, Restaurant Champagneria, Bakery & Patisserie,
CAM Bank, Newsagent and 'The Library' Irish Bar. Taxi services
are available to book and are reliable and reasonably priced.
For
those wanting a peaceful setting to relax in amongst stunning
scenery but within easy reach of the nearby lively resorts
with their bars, restaurants, shops and clubs, Cumbre del
Sol is the ideal location for families, groups and couples
alike.
Fiesta's
are a traditional part of Spanish life and as a result there
is barely a week goes by without either a national, provincial
or local fiesta taking place somewhere along the Costa!
These typically involve street parades, music & dance
and lots of fireworks! Some are more lavish and noisy than
others, but all are worth a visit to get an insight into
the Spanish way of life and fun loving culture.
